Students can now check their scorecards on the official websites results.cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. The CBSE Class 12 results 2026 are also available via the DigiLocker and UMANG apps.
1. No Topper List Policy: For the past few years, CBSE has not been officially releasing a ‘Toppers List’, keeping in mind students’ mental health.
2. First/Second Division Removed: The Board no longer mentions first, second, or third division on mark sheets; it only indicates pass, fail, or compartment.
3. 0.1% Merit Certificate: The Board awards a Special Merit Certificate to students who rank in the top 0.1% in a particular subject.
This year, CBSE used advanced OMR technology and multi-level teacher checking to evaluate answer sheets.
Along with the results for each stream, CBSE also publishes the overall pass percentages separately for Science, Commerce, and Arts. It is often seen that Arts and Commerce record slightly higher pass percentages than Science, whereas the Science stream has a greater number of top scorers.
A migration certificate is essential for students who are shifting to another state or seeking admission to state universities after studying under the central board. In 2024, CBSE announced that it would stop issuing physical migration certificates from the 2025 results onwards. From then on, only a digital migration certificate will be available through the student’s DigiLocker account. The board has confirmed that this digital certificate is valid and acceptable.
This year, more than 18 lakh students sat for the Class 12 examination, and experts anticipate that the pass percentage will surpass 87%. Last year, around 88% students passed the exam.
Students need not worry if the main website — cbseresults.nic.in — is slow due to heavy traffic. CBSE has provided several alternative portals for accessing the 12th results. You can check your scorecard by visiting cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, or digitallocker.gov.in. Keep your login credentials, such as roll number and school code, ready. It can also be accessed at UMANG, via SMS, and through IVRS.
As the CBSE Class 12 results are released, students should carefully check the following details on their provisional marksheet. They must ensure that your name, father’s name, date of birth, and exam centre name are correct. Cross-check these details with your admit card to confirm they match. Verify the spelling of your name, your school or exam centre, and all related fields. Even minor spelling mistakes can cause issues in college applications or job-related documents. If you find any discrepancy, report it immediately to your school authorities or the concerned CBSE regional office.
If a student is not satisfied with their CBSE 12th Result 2026, they can apply for re-evaluation. This requires first verifying their marks. After this, students can obtain a photocopy of their answer sheet. If there is still doubt about the marks awarded for a question, they can apply for re-checking or re-evaluation. Students must follow the instructions issued by the board.

Earlier, CBSE had announced that introducing digital evaluation for Class 12 would streamline the assessment process and minimise manual errors. The use of OSM will eliminate totalling mistakes, automate coordination, and significantly reduce the need for manual intervention. This system will speed up evaluation and enhance teacher participation, enabling educators to assess from their own schools without disrupting regular teaching work. The change is also expected to save transportation time and costs, supporting environmentally sustainable practices.
A few weeks ago, CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj mentioned that Class 12 mark sheets are expected to be released in the third week of May 2026. Besides, the results were released on May 13 for the past two years. Hence, looking at past year trends, it is highly likely that the scorecards will be out today.

What kind of management is this? Every single time you people just say “results will be out soon” instead of giving a proper date. Students are stressed, anxious, and constantly refreshing websites because of your careless communication. You guys should be giving your resignation
