Violence against women is reported every minute in India. It often dominates headlines, debates, triggering social media outrage. But a viral video from Madhya Pradesh has forced the internet to confront an uncomfortable truth – abuse does not have just one face. Sometimes, the victim is a man and, in that case, apparently no one steps in to stop it.
In a disturbing clip now circulating widely on X, an Indian man from Satna, Madhya Pradesh, is seen documenting the domestic violence he allegedly faced at home. The footage, reportedly recorded using a hidden camera, shows the man lying flat on a bed while his wife sits on top of him and repeatedly slaps him, relentlessly, using both hands. His body barely moves. At one point, he even appears unconscious.

What makes the video even more chilling is not just the violence, but the silence around it. As the woman continues to hit her husband, other people are present in the room. A woman attempts to intervene briefly, then steps back and watches. A man enters the room, looks on and does nothing with zero attempt to pull her away, acting like just mute spectators.
Constant Abuse At Home
According to the post, the man decided to record the incident after enduring prolonged physical and emotional abuse. He is also heard being threatened by his wife, who allegedly warned him that she would implicate him in false cases if he spoke up.
Internet Demands Strict Action
After the clip went viral, netizens flooded social media with demands for police intervention and protection for the man. Many questioned why such cases rarely receive the same urgency or empathy. One user wrote, “Abuse has many faces. All of them are ugly." Another comment sharply pointed out, “Funny how ‘believe all victims' suddenly disappears when the victim is a man. If roles were reversed, arrests in hours. Here? Silence. Equality sounds great, selectively."
Some reactions mixed anger with dark humour as one of them read, “Bhai ye to domestic violence nahi, full-on WWE SmackDown without referee tha." But beneath the jokes lies real discomfort. The clip exposes how male victims of domestic violence are often dismissed, mocked or simply ignored.
The video raises larger questions about how society defines victims, who is believed, and who receives help.
