Vulgar Passwords, Obscene WhatsApp Messages: Shocking Details Emerge In TCS Nashik Case
Disturbing new details have surfaced in the alleged sexual harassment and religious harassment case at Tata Consultancy Services’ BPO unit in Nashik, with victims claiming that vulgar codes were used in office passwords and obscene messages were sent on WhatsApp groups to mentally harass women employees.
One of the complainants, while recording her statement before the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission, alleged that the harassment began during her training period and continued for months.
She accused Raza Rafiq Memon of repeatedly calling her into his cabin, making sexually explicit remarks and deliberately saying things that hurt her religious sentiments.
The woman further claimed that despite raising the issue with her immediate manager, no action was taken. Instead, she alleged, the harassment intensified. Two other accused, Danish Sheikh and Tausif Attar, later began digitally stalking her and spreading rumours, she told investigators.
According to the police probe, the harassment extended beyond individual interactions. Investigators have found that a group leader at the TCS Nashik unit allegedly sent lewd messages almost daily in official WhatsApp groups.
Sources said the office Wi-Fi passwords were allegedly changed frequently using vulgar words or terms intended to offend the religious beliefs of female employees, as part of a sustained attempt to mentally intimidate them.
The case first came to light after a woman accused Danish Sheikh of establishing a physical relationship with her in 2022 by falsely promising marriage, while concealing the fact that he was already married.
The complaint also named his sister, Nida Khan, who is currently absconding, alleging that she made derogatory remarks about the complainant’s faith and pressured her to convert her religion. Police say Khan and Tausif Akhtar also allegedly hid Sheikh’s marital status from the victim.
As the investigation widened, seven more women approached the police, alleging mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues and accusing the human resources department of ignoring repeated complaints.
These incidents reportedly occurred between February 2022 and March 2026. A male employee has also filed a separate complaint alleging an attempt at religious conversion at the workplace.
So far, the police have arrested seven TCS employees, six men and one woman. Those arrested include Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Raza Rafiq Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Shafi Sheikh, Asif Aftab Ansari, and HR head Ashwini Chainani.
All have been suspended by the company. While Chainani is accused of discouraging a victim from formally filing a complaint, Nida Khan has been named in one case related to alleged religious harassment.
