Ranveer Singh Begins Action Prep For Don 3; Vikrant Massey To Rejoin Farhan Akhtar Film? | Exclusive
Ranveer Singh will kickstart the first schedule of Don 3 in end of January or early February 2026. Some portions of the Farhan Akhtar directorial will be shot in Jeddah, SA.
Following some unforeseen delays and uncertainties, it seems like Don 3 is finally set to go on floors! In August 2023, Farhan Akhtar had announced the third instalment of the popular franchise. A day later, a video was dropped that confirmed Ranveer Singh as the new Don after Shah Rukh Khan. Earlier, reports had stated that the actioner would go on floors in January 2025. But Farhan's acting commitments, reportedly, caused a delay in its schedule. Further, Vikrant Massey's departure as the antagonist had fueled speculation that Don 3 might be canned entirely.
But now, News18 Showsha has exclusively learnt that the film is very much happening. Ranveer, who recently delivered a blockbuster with Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, isn't too keen on wasting any time. In fact, he has already begun his action prep for Don 3. A little birdie told us, “Now that Ranveer is back to the game, the production doesn't want to wait anymore. After some scheduling conflicts and logistical back and forth, Don 3 is back on track. Ranveer will be seen doing some heavy-duty action sequences and he started prepping for the same last week.”
While there's still some ambiguity as to when the film hits the screens, the first schedule of Don 3 will be kick-started towards the end of January-early February next year. “Ranveer is fresh off the success of Dhurandhar. Kriti Sanon, on the other hand, dished out a big hit like Tere Ishq Mein. Don 3 serves as the perfect next-step for this duo. Some portions of the film in its first schedule will be shot in Jeddah. Kriti, much like Priyanka Chopra Jonas' Roma, will be seen engaging in some action sequences as well,” added the source.
After Vikrant's exit from the film, reports had suggested that Tamil actor Arjun Das of Kaithi and Vikram fame, had stepped in to play the antagonist. But our source revealed that the makers of Don 3 are still very much keen on having Vikrant lock horns with Ranveer in the film. “They've resumed conversations with Vikrant. The actor too is interested. They're currently in the process of figuring out his dates. Meanwhile, the script is still going through minute changes keeping Vikrant in mind,” the source stated.
If rumours are to be believed, Farhan is leaving no stone unturned to bring Shah Rukh and Priyanka in cameo appearances in Don 3. Interestingly, the last time they shared screen space was in Don 2 that released in 2011. Meanwhile, rumour has it that Farhan has also approached Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman for cameos in his upcoming directorial for an epic crossover finale. Earlier, Zeenat had given a nod to Ranveer's casting in the film. Taking to Instagram, she had written, “Congratulations, Ranveer! May you find a worthy ‘jungly billi' to your Don'.”
