Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) on October 8.
It will be the second for Mumbai after the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. The NMIA is located in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, 37 km from south Mumbai, and has an area of 1,160 hectares.
While the initial phase has a single integrated terminal for domestic and international operations, it will eventually have four terminals by the final phase.
The NMIA has two ‘Code F' compliant parallel runways – one with 3,700m length/ 60m width and the second with 3,700m length/ 60m width.

The initial phase will have 20 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA), eventually reaching 90 MPPA.
