Navi Mumbai Airport Turns Waiting Time Into A Show With Dancing Curtains: ‘Can Answer Why I Missed Flight Now’
India's air travel services may have hit a major controversy recently with the IndiGo fiasco, but the country's airport facilities and infrastructure are certainly growing. Apart from its elevated surroundings and ambience, the Navi Mumbai International Airport is greeting travellers with unique “dancing curtains" since its inauguration.
In an entertaining show, travellers waiting for their flight inside the airport's premises got the chance to watch dancing curtains that moved in astonishingly perfect sync with the beats of a popular Hindi film song. Artist Shahbaz Khan recorded the dancing curtains show in all its glory in a popular video shared on Instagram.
‘Dancing Curtains'
The video was of a unique show hosted for the travellers by the Navi Mumbai International Airport authorities. As the airport became fully operational on Christmas Day, it provided a sneak-peek into its design, decor and infrastructure. Among the parts of the decor and installations were what Khan described as the “dancing curtains".
These were actually extended fabric ribbons attached to the tech-controlled roof, where circular wheels dictated the movements of the ribbons and created the arc and the movements that the visitors enjoyed. In the clip that Khan shared, one could note the ribbons moving in sync to the lyrics and beats of the Deva Shree Ganesha song from the 2012 released Hrithik Roshan-starrer film Agneepath.

“Dancing curtains at Navi Mumbai International Airport celebrate our nation with pride," Khan noted, along with the video that introduced the internet to the newly opened airport's decor and unique entertainment show.
‘That Is Mesmerising'
People absolutely loved the dancing ribbons in their elements and poured their hearts out over the airport authorities' special show in the comment section.
“That is so mesmerising! I would get so distracted and watch it all day that I would miss my flight," quipped an admirer.
Someone else acknowledged, “Perfect flag dancing with song rhythm."
“Flight kyun chuti? Dance dekh raha tha (why did you miss your flight? Well, I was watching some dancing)," joked an individual.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport lies just outside Mumbai's main suburban rail line in the Ulwe area of Panvel taluka. Implementation agency for the entire airport project, City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), confirmed that the operations began on December 25 with 30 air traffic movements.
Several arrivals and departures were observed from major carriers like the IndiGo, Akasa Air, Air India Express and Star Air. Apart from its stunning design and interiors, the Navi Mumbai International Airport offers travellers exceptional facilities to support their overall journey.
