PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate northeast’s first highway-based emergency landing facility in Assam on Feb 14
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on February 14. He will inaugurate the Advanced Emergency Landing Facility in Moran. This facility is the first highway-based emergency landing ground in Northeast India. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a bridge in Guwahati and dedicate electric and CNG buses.
Dibrugarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at Chabua air base in Dibrugarh on February 14 and will go to Moran to inaugurate the Advanced Emergency Landing Facility (AELF).
The Advanced Emergency Landing Ground in Moran is the first highway-based Advanced Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in Northeast India.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Prime Minister will arrive at Chabua air base in Dibrugarh on February 14 and will come to Moran to inaugurate AELF.
The Advanced Emergency Landing Ground in Moran is the first highway-based Advanced Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in the Northeast. Built on a 4.2 km stretch of National Highway-37 (or NH-2), the AELF serves as a strategic dual-use infrastructure designed for landing of the aircrafts during combat or disaster, enhancing security near the China border.
Sarma said that upon inauguration by the Prime Minister, 16 combat aircrafts of the Indian Air Force including Rafale, Sukhoi, Tejas etc will land and take off from the AEFL in Moran. “Following this the Prime Minister will take off from the AEFL in Moran on an aircraft and will come to Guwahati,” the Chief Minister said.
In Guwahati, Modi will inaugurate the bridge connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati over the Brahmaputra River and virtually inaugurate the temporary campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Guwahati from Lachit Ghat.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a hyperscale data centre at Amingaon and dedicate around 100 electric and CNG buses to the people of Assam. Later in the day, he will visit the Veterinary Field Ground at Khanapara to address the BJP's booth-level workers' meet, where lakhs of party workers are expected to attend.
