Centre To Set Up 100 New Sainik Schools Under PPP Model: Amit Shah
The Narendra Modi government has decided to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across the country through the Public Private Partnership model. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced this on Thursday while speaking via video conference at the inauguration of the Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School and the Sagar Organic Plant, as reported by news agency PTI.
Shah said the new Sainik Schools will create opportunities for children from several districts of Gujarat to join the armed forces. According to a government release, the Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School has been constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore. The school includes facilities such as smart classrooms, hostels, a library and a canteen.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has decided to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across the country under the PPP model. Among these, Motibhai Chaudhary Sainik School will certainly become a symbol of pride for Mehsana," the release quoted Shah as saying.
Speaking about the Sagar Organic Plant, Shah said it will play an important role in providing reliable organic products under the Amul brand to consumers across India and abroad. He said the plant will ensure that farmers who practice organic farming receive fair profits.
“This plant, with a daily capacity of about 30 metric tonnes, is certified under National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Because of APEDA certification, farmers engaged in natural farming in north Gujarat will greatly benefit as their produce can reach global markets," Shah said.
The Union Cooperation Minister added that the growth of this organic plant will help improve public health and raise the income of farmers who follow organic farming methods. He also encouraged farmers and their families to choose organic products for their own well-being.
Shah highlighted the progress made by Dudhsagar Dairy over the years. “In 1960, Dudhsagar Dairy collected 3,300 litres of milk per day, which has now increased to 35 lakh litres per day. This dairy is connected to cattle-rearers from 1,250 villages in Gujarat and to more than 10 lakh milk production groups across Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh," he said.
“Its turnover has reached Rs 8,000 crore. With eight modern dairies, two milk chilling centres, two cattle feed plants, and one cement production unit, Dudhsagar Dairy today plays a major role in Gujarat's White Revolution," he added.

Shah noted that several efforts have been made to strengthen the dairy's circular economy. These include the formation of 75,000 new primary dairy cooperative societies across India. He also said the Modi government aims to ensure that half of the milk produced by cooperative societies reaches national and international markets, which will increase the earnings of cattle-rearers.

He said, “The Modi government will ensure 50 per cent of milk produced by cooperative societies reaches national and international markets, benefiting cattle-rearers. To ensure the benefits of the circular economy reach cattle-rearers, the Modi government has established three multi-state cooperative societies."
Shah added that women play a major role in the dairy sector. “This year, Gujarat experienced unseasonal heavy rainfall. To assist the affected farmers, the Bhupendra Patel government has announced a very generous relief package. The Gujarat government has resolved it will not step back from helping farmers," he said in the presence of the Chief Minister.
