Why Is Disha Vakani Not Returning To Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah? Real Reason Revealed
For a long time now, fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have been eagerly waiting for the comeback of the iconic character, Dayaben. Actress Disha Vakani, who used to essay this role, has been missing from the show for over seven years now. Recently, Mayur Vakani, Disha's on-screen and real-life brother, opened up about her absence from Asit Modi's show and clarified that she won't return since she is busy with her children.
“I have seen her journey closely since I am two years older than her. One thing I've realised is that when you perform with honesty and belief, God's blessings follow. She truly is blessed, but along with that, she has also worked extremely hard. That is why people have showered so much love on her as Daya," Mayur aka Sundar told ETimes.
“My father always taught me the right way—that even in life, we are actors. Whatever role we are given, we should perform it sincerely. We still follow his teachings. Currently, she is playing the role of a mother in real life and she is performing that role with full dedication. I truly believe this was always in my sister's mind too," he added.
Disha Vakani used to play the iconic role of Dayaben in TMKOC. However, she has been missing from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for years now. She went on maternity leave in 2018 and has not returned since. Just a few months ago, Asit Modi exclusively confirmed to News18 Showsha that Disha would not be returning to the popular sitcom.
“It is difficult for her now (to return to the show). For women, life changes after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is really a bit difficult for them. But I am still positive. I feel somewhere that god will do a miracle and she will return. If she comes, then it will be a good thing. If for some reason she does not come, then I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show," the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah creator said.
However, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been running successfully for 17 years now. The show recently completed 4500 episodes and has also been able to maintain its spot on the TRP charts. Even though Dayaben is absent from TMKOC, Asit Modi's show has managed to adapt to changing times with a fresh perspective. The show is no longer centered around a single character; instead, it delves deeper into the lives and challenges of multiple residents of Gokuldham Society.
