'Virgin Brahmin Bride Under 30': Divorced 37-Year-Old IITian’s Marriage Demands Spark Massive Outrage Online
A viral post by a matchmaker has sparked outrage online after she revealed the demands of a 37-Year-Old divorced man searching for a bride. Despite being divorced himself, the IIT graduate and director at a billion-dollar company reportedly insisted that he wanted a Brahmin woman under the age of 30 who had never been married, had never been in a relationship, and was a virgin.
The incident was shared by matchmaker and dating coach Oendrila Kapoor, who said she refused to take the man on as a client because of what she described as his patriarchal and unrealistic expectations.
According to Oendrila, the man introduced himself as a 37-year-old divorcee with an elite educational background and a successful corporate career. However, despite his own marital history, he expected his future wife to have “no past" whatsoever.
She recalled that he specifically wanted someone under 30, from the Brahmin community, and with “zero body count." When she questioned why his own past marriage should not be judged by the same standards, he reportedly replied, “Because I’m a man."
The man also tried to justify his demands by claiming that there was research showing that women with more previous partners are more likely to be unfaithful in the future. However, he was reportedly unable to name the study he was referring to.
Oendrila then pointed out a contradiction in his expectations. She told him that while a woman matching all of his requirements might exist, she would most likely come from a conservative family that may not be willing to accept a 37-year-old divorced man as a suitable match.
The man, however, allegedly insisted that he was already receiving proposals from women who fit his criteria. He said he had approached her platform because he did not trust matrimonial sites and wanted someone to verify profiles for him.
Unimpressed by his explanation, Oendrila said she refused to work with him. She reportedly told him, “Hey, I don’t think the scams and the fraud are happening with you. I think you are the one who’s going to scam these women with your orthodox, traditional, and patriarchal mindset and your absolutely unrealistic criteria."
In the caption of her post, Oendrila argued that there is a difference between having personal preferences and holding double standards. She wrote that the man was not looking for compatibility, but rather for a guarantee that the woman had “no past" before him.
Her post quickly went viral, sparking a heated debate online. While some defended the man’s right to have personal preferences, many others criticised what they saw as blatant hypocrisy.
One Instagram user commented, “Divorced people should look for other Divorced people, period."
“Why would a unmarried below 30 women marry a divorcee duhhh," another wrote.

Another commented, “Biggest culprits are found at the top."

However, not everyone disagreed with the man. One user wrote, “He is correct actually, there is a difference in someone married and being divorced and someone having body count without being married. That is what he is saying."
Another said, “Obviously a person who isn’t a virgin himself has no right to expect virginity. Regardless of the gender. There shouldn’t even be a debate on this."
One user also criticised the education system, writing, “Thats why ivy league colleges and any foreign college for that matter does a personality test and interview before giving a seat….not just writing a freakin exam and boom u are into iit….L indian education system..🤣🤣🤣"
