This Desi Artwork Truck From Punjab Is All Set To Rule The US Streets, Indians Ask ‘Where Can We See It?’

A colourful slice of India is going viral on social media after a video shows a full-blown desi-style truck being dispatched to the US. The clip, now circulating widely on Instagram, shows a massive truck adorned exactly like the ones that rule Indian highways.

The truck is decorated with bold artwork, painted regional symbols, and mesmerising Punjabi swagger, giving it a pure desi charm look. What makes the truck stand out is its mesmerising bodywork. It carries a luxurious and almost royal aesthetic.

The bonnet is in a golden colour which instantly catches the attention. From stickers and borders to the artwork, every inch of the truck looks carefully crafted. The truck's style looks similar to the trucks seen across Punjab and North India.

The front part of the truck displays a portrait of Sikh's tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a common sight on Punjabi trucks but a rare one on American highways. What caught the eye of many viewers is the inscription “Guru Rakha", painted in bold Punjabi letters, which translates to “God protects."

Above the artwork, it is written, “Public Carrier." The truck also lists state names on its cabin such as Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

How Did The Social Media Respond?

The video quickly went viral, garnering the attention of several users.

One person commented, “On the streets of America, Tata Legend."

Another wrote, “Hobbies have no value."

One person even asked, “Where can I see this truck in the US?" Another guessed that it is probably going to California.

One stated, “Nobody is going to drive it in US. They are just taking it for some museum piece or demolition Derby."

“Can't wait Paji. Thank you for doing a great job," commented another.

Desi trucks in UK

The recent Tata Legend truck headed for the US isn't the first time Indian vehicles have gone viral for their unique style. Earlier, Haider Ali, a globally celebrated truck artist originally from Punjab (now in Pakistan), has carried the tradition of truck art across continents.

Haider Ali visited Birmingham, UK with an aim to transform a nine-seater minibus into a colourful, elaborately decorated Punjabi “Truck Art" bus, like the ones commonly seen on roads in India and Pakistan.

The project was commissioned by DESIblitz, a UK-based platform promoting South Asian culture.
