Air travel is a big part of modern life, but not every country relies on airports in the same way. A recent video has caught attention online by breaking down which countries actually have the most airports in the world. The list surprises many viewers, especially because some major nations are missing from it.
The clip has sparked interest because it challenges common assumptions about travel, population size, and infrastructure. While many people expect Asian or European countries to dominate the list, the results turn out very differently.
Two Men Break Down The Airport List
The video opens with two men sitting in front of the camera. The man wearing a cap asks his friend, “What countries have the most airports?" Without hesitation, the friend replies, “USA is definitely in the top five."
The man in the cap agrees and confirms, “USA is number one." He then adds, “There are 15,873 airports in the United States." Hearing this, his friend reacts and says, “All right. And we were the first ones to start building airports, right?" The man nods and replies, “Makes sense, yeah."
Big Countries Don't Always Make The List
The friend then guesses China. But the other man quickly shuts it down, saying, “China is not on the list. China only has 259 recognised airports." Shocked, the friend responds, “Holy smokes. They have a lot of airlines." Laughing, the man repeats, “Yeah. 259 airports."
Russia, India, and the UK are also guessed but ruled out one by one. “India is not on the list," the man in the cap says, leaving his friend clearly puzzled.
Surprising Names Start Coming Up
Things change when Australia is mentioned. “Australia comes in at number three with 2,180 airports," the man asking the question explains. When asked if private airports are counted, he replies, “Yes, anything that you can fly out of, commercially or private."
Canada follows next. “Canada comes in at number five with 1,425 airports," he says.
Then comes Brazil. “Brazil is number two with 4,919 airports," he reveals. The friend jokes, “They probably just like, you know, they call a runway in the middle of the Amazon an airport there." The man laughs and responds, “For cocaine." His friend adds, “Yep. Smuggling."
Final List And Online Reactions
Mexico completes the list. “Mexico is the last one on the list with 1,485," the man says before reading out the final tally: “The United States with 15,873, Brazil with 4,900, Australia with 2,100, Mexico with 1,485, and Canada with 1,425."
