A gut-wrenching post of a man who shared how his seven-year relationship ended in betrayal and worse, blame, has quickly gained traction online. The post, shared on Reddit, opened with how the user found something off in their relationship over the past few days. To bring things back in place, the said man travelled all the way to see his girlfriend, but what he found left him shattered.

“We were together for seven years. Seven years of memories, trust, late-night talks, and dreams about the future. I thought we could get through anything," the user wrote.

He went on to share, “Lately, she had been really distant. Calls went unanswered, texts were short or ignored, and she seemed… somewhere else. I tried to give her space, thinking maybe work and the new city were just exhausting her. But something inside told me she needed a surprise. So, for our anniversary, I surprised her. I decided to visit her."

The Devastating Truth

He travelled all the way to see her, excited to celebrate the day that meant so much to both of them. But what he found was devastating. Upon arrival, he caught his girlfriend making out with someone else. Yes, you read that right.

Expressing his feelings, he wrote, “My heart shattered in a way I didn't know was possible. Every year we spent together felt like it had been erased in an instant. I couldn't speak. I just stared, numb."

But it didn't end there. The betrayal was followed by an explanation that quickly turned into blame. “She tried to explain, tried to justify it. But the worst part wasn't the betrayal. It was what came next. She started blaming me. She said I wasn't exciting anymore, that “the spark was gone," that I didn't grow with her, and that our relationship had somehow failed because of me," the user wrote.

Concluding the post, he expressed, “In these seven years, I was suddenly the problem. It felt like the world flipped upside down. The person I trusted most, the person I loved most, told me I had somehow failed while she walked away with someone else. I don't know how to process it. I still remember her face, her words, and the casual way she blamed me while I was shattered inside. I can't decide if I'm angry, sad, or just empty."
