Saas firm Wingify acquires Blitzllama to push AI-led user research
Software as a service (SaaS) firm Wingify, which operates the experience optimisation platform VWO, announced the acquisition of Blitzllama, an AI-powered user insights platform that helps businesses capture and analyse customer feedback in real-time. This is expected to deepen VWO's capabilities in user research and enhance its offerings.
Under this deal, Blitzllama's existing customers will transition to the VWO platform, and will continue to have access to its data and support. In a statement, the companies said their combined capabilities will enable the product teams to better serve their customers and convert feedback into actionable improvements. The company said the deal will further strengthen their product intelligence capabilities.
“AI has changed how teams listen to their users,” said Sparsh Gupta, CEO and cofounder of Wingify. “Blitzllama strengthens this capability within VWO, providing our customers with a clearer and faster route from user insights to validated experience improvements.”
Wingify reported profitable growth over the past year, with its annual recurring revenue nearing $60 million, driven by strong enterprise adoption. In January this year, Singapore-based private equity firm Everstone Capital acquired around 80% of bootstrapped Wingify for approximately $200 million.
Founded in 2021 and part of Y Combinator's Winter 2022 batch, Blitzllama built AI models that summarise open-ended feedback and identify themes and sentiment, to enable companies to move from raw qualitative data to insights within a few hours.
Sandeep Singh, managing director at Everstone Capital, said, “The acquisition of Blitzllama reinforces Wingify's commitment to combining experimentation with AI-led user understanding.”
