HUL Demerger: Record Date, Share Entitlement Ratio, Effective Date, Everything You Need To Know
HUL-Kwality Walls Demerger: The demerger of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) and Kwality Walls India Ltd (KWIL) will become effective on December 1, 2025, according to a company statement. The record date to determine the HUL investors' eligibility for KWIL's equity shares has been fixed at December 5, 2025.
The share entitlement ratio has been finalised at 1:1, which means one equity share of KWIL of a face value of Re 1 will be offered for every equity share held in HUL, according to the statement.
HUL announced its plan to demerge its ice cream business Kwality Walls in January 2025, following which the proposal received approvals from the BSE and the NSE in May. Shareholders also gave their approval in August.
Kwality Walls Listing Date
The listing is expected in the fourth quarter of FY26 (January-March 2026), subject to regulatory approvals, HUL's executives said during a recent analyst call.
Kwality Wall's, one of India's most recognisable ice cream and frozen dessert brands, is owned by Hindustan Unilever and has built a strong presence across the country with its wide range of affordable indulgences. Known for household favourites like Cornetto, Feast, Paddle Pop and Magnum, the brand has positioned itself around fun, comfort and everyday treats.
Over the years, Kwality Wall's has expanded aggressively with deep distribution, timely product innovation and campaigns that tap into nostalgia and family moments.
HUL Share Price
Shares of Hindustan Unilever (HUL) were trading at Rs 2,443.9 apiece on the NSE, at 12:10 pm on Wednesday.
The stock ended Tuesday's session 0.93% lower at Rs 2,404, slipping from the previous close of Rs 2,426.15. The company announced its demerger record date after market hours on November 18, 2025.

Over the last five years, HUL has delivered returns of more than 13% to investors, but the stock has declined 0.78% over the past year. On a year-to-date basis, the shares are up 3.53% in 2025, even as they have fallen 7.34% in the past month. The stock is also down 0.57% over the last five trading sessions.
HUL hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,779.70 on September 4, 2025, while the 52-week low stands at Rs 2,136, touched on March 4, 2025, as per BSE data. The company's market capitalisation was over Rs 5.64 lakh crore at the close of trade on November 18, 2025.
