Ranveer Singh Threat: Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Behind Voice Note? Police Put Actor’s Mumbai House On High Security
Amid Ranveer Singh’s ongoing spat with Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment over Don 3, the Dhurandhar actor is now facing another crisis after receiving a threatening WhatsApp voice note demanding ransom money. Following this, security was tightened as police now suspect the Lawrence Bishnoi gang behind the threat.
Security has been stepped up outside Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s house in Mumbai, following a threatening voice note which the Dhurandhar star received via WhatsApp on February 10. The ransom call has put the entire Bollywood fraternity on high alert. Armed guards were seen around Ranveer’s neighbourhood leaving the residents worried. As investigation continues to dig deeper into the voice note to Ranveer, police now suspect the Lawrence Bishnoi gang could be the prime suspect, which was also behind the recent firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s house, and the threats to Salman Khan. This also comes as Ranveer is already caught up in a clash with Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment over Don 3, while preparing for the release of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2.
Late on Tuesday, news came in that Ranveer received a threat from an unidentified sender demanding a huge amount of Rs 10 crore. Even as the police continue to investigate the threat, security has been heightened at the actor’s residence. Ranveer and Deepika have reportedly deployed six armed security personnel to guard their house.

According to PTI, the police suspect a hand of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang behind the threat to Ranveer too. The report claimed that the primary purpose of the threat could be extortion. The crime branch of Mumbai Police has launched a probe, and law enforcement agencies have initiated an examination into digital trails and intelligence inputs to identify who’s behind the threat.
PTI added that following the high security outside Ranveer’s housing society in Central Mumbai, its managing committee approached the Dadar Police Station to express concern over the deployment of guards. “Since these armed guards are frequently moving with weapons in common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium and children’s play area, the society managing committee has expressed serious concern regarding the safety and comfort of other residents,” the letter from the committee read.
Unidentified shooter fired five rounds at Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu recently
Recently, Rohit Shetty also faced security threat when five rounds were fired outside his Juhu residence, leaving visible bullet marks on the building. Shetty’s home has multiple entry points and extensive CCTV coverage. The suspects fled after the shooting, and senior police officials and Crime Branch teams reached the spot soon after the incident was reported.
Shubham Lonkar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the firing. He has been absconding ever since. Meanwhile, the police have arrested five men in the case.
