Since debuting in 2007, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup has transformed cricket's shortest format into a global blockbuster. In all nine editions, the tournament has delivered high drama, sudden momentum swings, and title runs that have reshaped the modern game. Six nations have shared the honours so far — India, West Indies, and England with two titles each, and Pakistan, Australia, and Sri Lanka with one apiece.
The story began in South Africa, where a young Indian side, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captured the imagination of fans worldwide. India's five-run victory over Pakistan in the final at Johannesburg's Wanderers Stadium instantly became folklore.
