The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the updated fixtures and match schedule for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, confirming dates, venues, and the full roadmap to the final. As Bangladesh is no longer part of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC has released an updated fixtures list. The tournament will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and will start on February 7 and will go on until March 8, 2026. The matches are spread across major cities in both countries.
As per the revised schedule shared by the ICC, the group stage will commence from February 6, featuring multiple double-headers. Cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Colombo, and Kandy will be hosting group matches. The knockout phase will begin in late February.
The league phase will be completed on March 1, following which the tournament will enter into the semi-finals and final.
The tournament will start on Saturday, February 7, and the final match will be on Sunday, March 8, 2026. As per the latest schedule, nearly a month of action will take place as matches will be conducted almost every day during the group stage.
As per the fixtures released by the ICC, Semi Final 1 is slated to take place on Wednesday, March 4, whereas Semi Final 2 will be played on Thursday, March 5. The final is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad, and Colombo is mentioned as the host venue for the title battle.
The updated fixture list also confirms many high-profile group clashes involving powerhouses like India, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, and England. Emerging teams like the UAE, Nepal, the USA, Namibia, and Italy will also be playing.
In a major development related to the updated schedule, the ICC has confirmed that Scotland will replace Bangladesh at the ICC's Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The decision has been taken after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) declined to take part in the tournament under the published match schedule, prompting the ICC to make the last-minute change.
