Mumbai Man, Working On Cruise, Buys Rs 10 Lakh Car With ‘Cash Tips’ Earned Onboard: ‘Salary Is For Future Bro’
A man who works on a cruise ship shared that he was able to buy a car worth Rs 10 lakh using only the tips he earned from guests. He thanked his European and American passengers for giving him generous cash tips, which he says helped him reach this goal.
In his Instagram post, he explained that he treats his salary differently and chooses not to spend it. Instead, he puts it away for the future. The photo he shared shows him posing proudly beside his new car in an open, scenic spot.

“When you work on a cruise ship you can buy everything with TIPS…..," the man wrote on Instagram. Right after that, he added a line about how he handles his income: “SALARY is for future savings bro."
His POV text on the photo read, “Thanks to all my cruise ship guests (Europe and USA). I bought a Rs 10 Lakh car with your blessings of tips in cash."

Another Story Highlights the Power of Generous Tipping
In Michigan, a diner surprised an entire restaurant staff in 2024 by leaving a massive $10,000 tip (around Rs 9 lakh) on a small bill of $32.43 (about Rs 2,000). The staff were shocked because they usually receive tips in the range of 15 per cent to 25 per cent, nothing even close to this.
The restaurant's manager, Tim Sweeney, told The Hill that the biggest tip they normally see is around $100 (around Rs 9,000). “Typically, we'll see every now and then $100 (tips), but not ever anything of this gratitude or magnitude," she said.
Unsure if it was meant to be that large, she went back to the customer to confirm. “I had a conversation with him. He wants to process," she added, explaining that he was clear about his decision.

The customer, Mark, later shared the reason behind his generous act. According to waitress Paige Mulick, he said he left the tip in memory of a close friend who had recently passed away. He was in town to attend the funeral and wanted to do something meaningful in his friend's honour.
The tip was divided among nine staff members, giving each person more than $1,100 (about Rs 91,000). Mulick, who had recently graduated from Western Michigan University, said she plans to use her share to reduce her student loans. “(I'll) lower that interest every bit I can. So many incredible women working that day, so many hard-working mothers… just who really deserves this," she told the outlet.
