'Meri Patni Ko Aankh Maari': Rajasthan SDM 'Justifies' After Video Of Him Slapping Petrol Pump Workers Goes Viral

A heated argument broke out between a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and petrol pump staff members on Tuesday, October 21, in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district. The incident, which took place around 3:44 PM at the Jaswantpura CNG petrol pump on the Ajmer-Bhilwara Highway, was captured on CCTV cameras along with the audio of the entire altercation.

In a clip going viral on social media, the current SDM of Pratapgarh, Chhotu Lal Sharma, was seen getting out of his car while a petrol pump employee was preparing to fill the tank of a white car that had just arrived. Once he reached the employee, he yelled, “SDM hun main yahan ka (I am the SDM here.)" Moments later, he slapped the pump attendant over service priority. According to reports, the altercation broke out because the pump worker decided to fill the tank of the other car before the officer's.

The SDM Hurled Abuses At The Petrol Pump Employees

Another employee quickly approached them and questioned the government employee on why he was pushing him. The SDM then slapped him as well. In retaliation, one of the petrol pump workers raised his hands at the SDM, while the other one tried to control him. Meanwhile, the SDM's wife joined the scene, shouting, while the government official hurled abuses at the employees and warned, “You dare lay a hand on the SDM?" The video then captured him following one of the workers while the argument continued.

… pic.twitter.com/AEAs17CWIx

The SDM Alleged That The Petrol Pump Employees Misbehaved With His Wife

Following the incident, SDM Chhotu Lal Sharma filed a complaint with the Raila police station, where he alleged misbehaviour by the petrol pump employees. He stated that he was visiting his home in Bhilwara for Diwali and had stopped at the pump to refuel. That's when one of the employees allegedly misbehaved with his wife. It is worth noting that the CCTV footage from the incident shows no evidence supporting the allegation.

Further in the complaint, the SDM said that his wife yelled at those employees, which marked the beginning of the altercation. He also mentioned that the petrol pump workers hurled abuses at him and raised their hands at him.
