Meet Arvid Lindblad, The Indian-Origin F1 Driver, Set To Make His Debut In 2026 With Racing Bulls

Arvid Gustav Lindblad's story doesn't start on some sun-baked karting track in Europe– it starts in Virginia Water, Surrey, where he was born on 8 August 2007 to a Swedish dad and an Indian-British mum.

By the age of five, when most kids are perfecting crayons, Lindblad was already tearing around Daytona Sandown Park in Esher. And it didn't take long for everyone to realise: this wasn't just another hobby racer. His climb through the UK karting ranks was astronomical.

Lindblad's Early Stages

In 2019, he became British Cadet Champion, and with Formula E star (and newly crowned 2025 champion) Oliver Rowland in his corner, Lindblad went international. He grabbed the WSK Super Master Series title in 2020, followed by the WSK Euro Series in 2021, proving that speed was basically his first language.

Then came the moment every rising talent dreams of: Red Bull called. At just 13, Lindblad signed with the Red Bull Junior Team — an early stamp of approval that usually means, “Yep, this kid is the real deal."

The Red Bull Fast Track

Like most karting prodigies, Lindblad jumped into Formula 4 the second he turned 15. By 2023, he finished third in Italian F4, exceeding expectations in a field stacked with talent. That winter, he went to Macau and won the F4 World Cup.

He stepped up to F3 in 2024, didn't take the title, but absolutely proved he had the raw speed and adaptability teams drool over. That earned him a seat in F2 for 2025, a season full of blistering highs — like Sprint victory in Saudi Arabia and a pole-to-win masterclass in Spain — and the kind of rookie mistakes that remind you he's still a teenager.

But Red Bull saw enough. They always do. And when they like what they see, they hit fast-forward.

Why He's F1-Ready

Lindblad secured the all-important Super Licence by winning the Formula Regional Oceania Championship early in 2025. Then he backed it up with two private tests in a 2023 AlphaTauri and two impressive FP1 outings — Silverstone in July, Mexico City in October.

Which leads us to now: the kid is officially stepping into Formula 1 with Racing Bulls.

Make no mistake — this isn't a PR stunt seat. Racing Bulls is Red Bull's pressure cooker, their proving ground, the place where they separate “quick" from “future world-beater." Putting Lindblad there at 18 means they think he could be Verstappen's teammate — or successor.

The leap is massive. The spotlight will be scorching. Mistakes? Guaranteed. But Red Bull don't promote teenagers unless they believe the ceiling is sky-high.

And for Arvid Lindblad, this is just the warm-up lap.
