Vegan Double Chocolate Baked Oats: A High-Protein Breakfast That Tastes Like Cake
Craving a breakfast that feels like dessert but still supports your energy levels? Imagine starting your morning with something that tastes like chocolate cake minus the sugar rush and post-meal slump. That's exactly why baked oats are winning over breakfast lovers everywhere. Nutritious, filling, and indulgent without being heavy, this chocolate version comes together with everyday pantry ingredients and just seven components, making it ideal for hectic mornings.
Fitness creator Juliana, popularly known online as Fit Foodie Jules, recently shared her vegan double chocolate baked oats recipe, one that delivers the flavour of a rich chocolate cake while packing an impressive 34 grams of protein. According to her, it's the kind of breakfast that completely satisfies chocolate cravings, no guilt attached.
In an Instagram post shared on July 7, 2025, she described the dish as nutrient-dense, protein-rich, and indulgent enough to feel like dessert, arguing that if this doesn't sound like an ideal breakfast, nothing will.

Ingredients
50 g oat flour (or oats blended into flour)
5 g cocoa powder
25 g vegan chocolate protein powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
140–150 ml liquid (water works perfectly)
1 square dark chocolate
Dark chocolate chips, for topping
Method
Add all ingredients except the chocolate square to a bowl and mix until you have a smooth, pourable batter.
Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased, oven-safe dish.
Press the square of dark chocolate into the centre of the batter.
Spoon a little batter over it so the chocolate is fully covered.
Scatter chocolate chips on top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20–25 minutes, until set and cooked through.
The result is a warm, gooey, cake-like breakfast that feels indulgent yet nourishing proof that mornings can be both healthy and delicious.
