The buzz around Mardaani 3 translated into solid footfalls on its opening weekend, with audiences stepping out in decent numbers across major cities. Fronted by Rani Mukerji, the film has managed to hold attention through its first two days in theatres, driven largely by urban centres and evening show demand.
According to data shared by Sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs 4 crore on Friday, followed by a noticeable jump on Saturday with collections of Rs 5.95 crore. That brings the two-day total to Rs 9 crore, indicating a steady start rather than a one-day spike.
Cities show mixed but encouraging turnout
The film's performance has not been uniform across India, but key markets have shown healthy interest. Pune emerged as the strongest centre with an overall occupancy of 34.67%. Mumbai followed closely at 30.33%, while Kolkata recorded 26.33%. The National Capital Region (NCR) also stayed in a comfortable range with 25.33% occupancy.
Evening shows do the heavy lifting
Time slots played a crucial role in shaping the numbers. Morning shows saw the weakest response across locations, starting as low as 3% in Surat and going up to 19% in Pune. Afternoon shows fared better but remained moderate overall.
Evenings clearly worked in the film's favour. Pune peaked at 44% occupancy during evening shows, Mumbai touched 39%, while Kolkata went up to 45%. Night shows, however, did not convert into significant footfalls in most regions.
Wide release in major markets
In terms of scale, NCR led the pack with 535 shows, followed by Mumbai with 414 and Bengaluru with 223. The high show count in these cities reflects both distributor confidence and sustained audience interest in metros.
Mardaani 3 review

Speaking of the actress' performance, it's raw, intense, and, like always, super convincing. While Rani as Shivani Shivaji Roy is someone who can never let her audience down, there is a sense of forced Marathi accent and some over-the-top dialogues in the film that might irritate you at times. For instance, watching Rani say lines like “fielding set kar" or “latak ke marega yaa yahin gaad doon" doesn't feel very convincing and at times leaves you wondering if they were needed."
