Manipur Public Service Commission Reschedules Exam Due To Question Paper Mix-Up
The Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) postponed the examination of two papers on Sunday due to a mix-up in question sets at the test centres, officials reported. The Commission announced that the exam date has been rescheduled for November 22, reported PTI.
An official stated that the exams were supposed to conclude on Sunday but had to be postponed after an error was found in the question. Candidates attending the morning session at the Imphal centre were mistakenly given the question paper for GS-IV instead of GS-III, he added.
“The Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination 2022, which began on November 7 and was scheduled to conclude today (Sunday), had to be postponed after a mix-up in question papers led to the cancellation of both General Studies Paper (GS)-III and Paper-IV," the official stated.
The error was identified shortly after the examination began, causing confusion among the candidates.
In an official notice by the Commission dated November 9, it stated that while opening the scaled cover just before the commencement of the exam, it was discovered that there was a mismatch between the heading of the question paper for General Studies III with the content inside due to an error of the Secured Printing Press.

“This could not be detected earlier because no official from the MPSC is allowed to see the Question Papers to keep full confidentiality and the question paper is opened only in front of the candidates in the examination hall. It is the endeavour of the MPSC to keep full confidentiality even at the risk of being not able to detect errors in the printing of the question papers as confidentiality is paramount," the notice stated, adding that due warning has been given to the Secured Press not to repeat such errors.
The Manipur Civil Services Mains Examination 2022 is being held at two centres – Imphal and Guwahati, according to the official.
