Mammootty has now reacted to his Padma Bhushan honour on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, and expressed his gratitude to the nation, the people and the Government. He also wished his fans a happy Republic Day.

On Monday, Mammootty took to X (formerly Twitter), and reacted to his Padma Bhushan honour. “My gratitude to the Motherland…. 'Padma Bhushan' My heartfelt thanks to the nation, the people, and the Government for honoring me with this civilian honour. Republic Day Wishes to everyone……," he wrote. His fans congratulated him and called him truly worthy of this prestigious honour.

Meanwhile, yesterday, soon after the Padma awardees were announced, Kamal Haasan penned a note to congratulate his ‘dear friend' Mammootty. Sharing a note on X, he wrote in Tamil, “My dear friend @mammukka has been announced as a Padma Bhushan awardee. We haven't acted together, but we have long maintained a ‘Kopperuncholan Pisiranthaiyar' friendship—appreciating each other from afar and giving each other honest feedback. Now it feels like we should meet in person a little more often."
