Munnar: A Paradise For First-Time Visitors
Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in Kerala and a favourite for first-time visitors. A Simple 7-Day Kerala Itinerary
This 7-day plan is ideal for first-time visitors who want to see Kerala's main highlights without rushing.
Day 1: Arrive In Kochi
Reach Cochin International Airport and head to Fort Kochi. Spend the evening walking around the old streets and watching the sunset near the Chinese fishing nets. You can also attend a Kathakali dance show at night.
Day 2: Kochi To Munnar
Visit Mattancherry Palace and the Paradesi Synagogue in the morning. After lunch, drive to Munnar. Enjoy the scenic journey and relax once you arrive.
Day 3: Explore Munnar
Spend the day visiting tea gardens and viewpoints. Stop at Eravikulam National Park if open and explore places like Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point. A visit to the Tea Museum is optional.

Drive to Thekkady after breakfast. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on Periyar Lake to spot wildlife.
Day 5: Thekkady To Alleppey
Travel to Alleppey and board a houseboat by noon. Cruise through the backwaters, enjoy local meals and spend the night on the boat.
Day 6: Alleppey To Kovalam
Get off the boat in the morning and drive to Kovalam. Spend the day relaxing at the beach or enjoy a calm evening by the sea.
Day 7: Trivandrum And Departure
Explore Trivandrum briefly by visiting museums or nearby attractions. Later, head to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
