Kartik Aaryan Reveals How He Completes His Protein Intake On A Vegetarian Diet

Actor Kartik Aaryan revealed that his fitness transformation is the result of disciplined nutrition and a vegetarian diet rather than any shortcuts or tricks. In a conversation with podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia, Kartik shared that he has no difficulty meeting his protein requirements as a vegetarian. He described himself as a simple person when it comes to fitness and food, saying he enjoys everyday staples like paneer, sprouts, and tomato soup.

Kartik confessed that, as compared to his non-vegetarian friends, he has fewer conventional protein sources readily available to him. His dietitian came up with creative ways to solve this problem: paneer, or cottage cheese, sprouted legumes, and soups, including tomato soup, are the staples that keep him full, nourished, and on track. “Paneer khaaya, sprouts khaaye, tomato soup peeta hoon (I eat paneer, sprouts, and tomato soup)," said Kartik Aaryan.

Kartik's fitness routine involves more than just food; it also includes working out regularly, a professional support system, and restful sleep. Through following this comprehensive program, he was able to lower his body fat and build lean muscle for his film Chandu Champion.

How Kartik Aaryan Focuses On A Protein Diet

Kartik focuses on protein quality rather than quantity; instead of using fad supplements, he opts for high-protein vegetarian foods and uses them regularly. However, the actor pointed out that it has to be done as a ritual. “It became like a robotic thing… Making a good body on a veg diet," he said.

The foundation of Kartik's diet is built on plant-based protein sources such as paneer, tofu, lentils, sprouts, and soy, all of which provide essential muscle-building amino acids without the saturated fats found in meat. Nutritionists often praise such diets for being lighter on the stomach and healthier for the heart.

Kartik Aaryan's Fitness Regime Includes 8 Hours of Sleep and Zero Sugar

In an earlier conversation with the Indian Express' Screen, Kartik revealed how it took him a year and a half to achieve the physical transformation for his movie, Chandu Champion. He said that the first thing that helped him reach his fitness goal was adjusting his sleep schedule. “I was an insomniac before… You need a minimum of 8 hours of sleep," Kartik said at the time.

Kartik talked about how he focused on his diet and made significant dietary modifications along with adjusting his sleep schedule. “It [diet] was the most important part of my journey of 1.5 to 2 years, which included cutting out sugar, eating less gluten … and eating more protein," he added. He also mentioned that he abstained from cheat meals while getting ready for Chandu Champion.
