White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is facing criticism with social media users accusing her of airbrushing her husband's face in an Instagram post. Leavitt, a close aide of US President Donald Trump, posted on Halloween but that drew questions about the appearance of her husband Nicholas Riccio, who is 32 years senior to her. The 28-year-old shared photos of herself with Nicholas Riccio, 60, and their 16-month old son, Niko, outside the pumpkin-adorned White House. The three also posed for a shot on the steps of Vice President JD Vance's home at the Naval Observatory in northwest Washington, D.C.
These pictures caught the attention of social media but not in a good way. The images on Leavitt's social media account were different to those shared by press photographers and appeared to show a more 'unfiltered' view, according to a Daily Mail report.

Karoline Leavitt faces backlash
Leavitt's page was soon flooded with comments accusing her of enhancing her husband's appearance. "The airbrushing of your hubs face to make him appear younger was the trick," one commenter wrote."Karoline, awesome picture but my friends noticed something: The guy on the left seems to have only his face photoshopped. His hands look like 60+ years old," another user added. Karoline Leavitt, who boasts of more than 2.6 million followers, is yet to publicly to the criticism or addressed whether any of the photos had been edited before being posted. By Monday evening, Leavitt's Halloween post had drawn more than 235,000 likes, with many comments zeroing in on Riccio's seemingly smooth complexion.

Who is Karoline Leavitt's husband?
Karoline Leavitt is married to Nicholas Riccio whom she met in 2022 before getting married three years later. The White House press secretary, 27, and Riccio, 59, welcomed their son, Nicholas Robert Riccio, nicknamed “Niko,” in July 2024. Six months later, the two wed days before President Donald Trump's second inauguration in January 2025.Nicholas Riccio is a real-estate developer with ties to her home state of New Hampshire. Coming from a humble background, he took the bold step of borrowing money, sometimes at interest rates between 50 to 100 percent, but his gamble ultimately paid off. Nicholas has built an impressive real estate empire, including his firms Riccio Enterprises LLC and its subsidiary, Nautical Beach Properties. Nicholas's strategic investments and relentless efforts in real estate have earned him a staggering net worth of $6 million, as per reports.
According to PEOPLE, Nicholas Riccio grew up in Hudson, N.H., as one of four children. After graduating high school, he attended Plymouth State University during which time he experienced financial insecurity, he told the Sunday Herald in 2005.
Following college, Riccio took a real estate course and pursued a career in the field, eventually becoming a scion in the business with his own company, Riccio Enterprises. He now owns over 15 buildings in Hampton Beach, N.H., which he rents out to families.

Appearing on The Megyn Kelly Show in March, Karoline Leavitt described their meeting and marriage as 'a very atypical love story.' "A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband," Leavitt told Kelly. "I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love."
She said the pair welcomed their son Niko in July 2024 before marrying six months later. "He is my greatest supporter, he's my best friend and he's my rock," Leavitt said. "He's built a very successful business himself so now he's fully supportive of me building my success in my career."
"And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life,' she added. 'I say, "I walked into your life and it's been a circus ever since," but God bless him because he's fully on board."
