Kangana Ranaut Finds Salman Khan 'Cool', Takes Sharp Dig At Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra | Rising Bharat Summit
Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut is known for voicing her opinions fearlessly. She was among the first in the industry to openly speak about nepotism when many others chose to stay silent. Over the years, she has often expressed her disagreements with the film industry and hasn’t shied away from sharing her views on fellow celebrities. On February 27, Kangana attended the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, where her witty responses grabbed attention. During the session, she was asked about several celebrities, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, and Aditya Chopra.
Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen in Emergency, a biopic of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was asked to choose between Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan on the basis of her friendship. She was asked, “Aapka acha dost kaun hai?" The actress was quick to respond, “Ye mere dost kab se bann gaye (laughs)." Further, on being prodded, who does she like the most? She said, “I think Salman is quite cool."
Next, she was asked to pick between Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan – who is the better actress? She laughed and said, “Let’s go with Ananya Panday". Both actresses have a history, as Kangana had mocked Ananya on The Kapil Sharma Show in May 2022, calling her a ‘Bolly-bimbo’ and mimicking her ability to touch her nose with her tongue.
When quizzed about choosing the better director among Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, and Aditya Chopra, Kangana chose to take a dig instead of naming one. She said, “Meri jo filmmaking aur acting ke liye jo liking hai, mere standards itne low nahi jitne aapke hai. Kam se kam list toh achi banani thi."
Kangana and KJo’s controversy started in 2017 when she called him the ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’ and ‘movie mafia’ on his talk show, Koffee with Karan. Over the years, Kangana continued to criticise Karan on social media, accusing him of promoting ‘star kids’. For now, things are fine between them; she doesn’t really continue to speak about their controversy.
On the work front, Kangana will be next seen in an untitled psychological thriller opposite R Madhavan. This will mark their reunion after the Tanu Weds Manu franchise.
