IndiGo Launches Direct Mumbai–London Flights: Check Schedule, Fares And Onboard Perks

Travel between Mumbai and London just got easier as IndiGo officially launches its direct daily flights connecting the two cities. The airline will operate the route with leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering passengers the choice between Economy and Business Class.

While the launch has generated excitement among travellers, it has also sparked curiosity about ticket prices, in-flight meals, alcohol availability, and the comforts passengers can look forward to on board. Here's a closer look at what flyers can expect from IndiGo's latest international offering.

Recently, Nick Booker, the co-founder and CEO of IndoGenius, who works closely with international universities, companies, government agencies, and investors to strengthen their engagement with India, posted about IndiGo's new direct daily flights between Mumbai and London.

“I'm flying to the UK on IndiGo's first-ever flight to London. Indigo is going international and it is super exciting to be making history with them. Huge thanks to fabulous IndiGo crew and ground team for all the fun and kindness," he wrote.

Ticket Prices And Fare Options

IndiGo's new Mumbai-London route offers three Economy fare options: Saver, Flexi Plus and Super 6E. The Saver fare is priced at Rs 24,086, while the Flexi Plus fare starts from Rs 29,336, and the Super 6E is worth Rs 32,486, which gives added comfort. The flight also has two Business Class options. The Stretch fare starts from Rs 54,999, and the upgraded Stretch+ will cost Rs 61,136. (Prices may vary depending on the date of travel.)

Will The Menu Offer More Than The Usual Options?

While IndiGo has not yet revealed the detailed food menu for its new Mumbai–London flights, the airline has confirmed that complimentary hot meals will be served to all passengers. Travellers can choose from a variety of meal options, including Vegetarian, Non-Vegetarian, International Vegetarian, International Non-Vegetarian, Vegan, Jain, and Diabetic-friendly choices, all available at no extra cost.

Are Alcoholic Beverages Available On The Flight?

Alcoholic beverages, however, will be available for purchase on board.

Will There Be Screens, Blankets And Other Facilities Usually Available On International Flights?

Passengers travelling on Saver, Flexi Plus, or Super 6E fares will need to purchase blankets and pillows separately, though all three fare types include in-flight entertainment. Those flying in Business Class can look forward to premium seats with charging outlets, along with Fast Forward services and lounge access at select airports.

From Which Airports Will This Flight Operate?

From Mumbai, IndiGo's direct flight to London will operate out of Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. In London, the service will arrive at and depart from Heathrow International Airport.

Flight 6E 0001 will depart Mumbai at 2:45 PM and arrive in London at 7:20 PM (local time). The return flight, 6E 0002, will take off from London at 9:30 PM and land in Mumbai at 11:45 AM the following day.

Any Expansion Plan?

As of now, IndiGo has not announced any details regarding future international expansion. The airline remains focused on successfully launching its Mumbai–London route, with no official confirmation yet about additional long-haul destinations.
