Hormone Coach Reveals Cutting Sugar Is Not Enough To Deal With Imbalance
Most women suffer from hormonal imbalance despite cutting back on sugar. According to expert Poornima Peri, even seemingly healthful foods might interfere with hormone function. These typical decisions could be the true causes of mood fluctuations, weight gain, and chronic exhaustion. Sugar is often blamed for thyroid issues, bloating, mood swings and weight gain.

Flavoured yoghurts and protein bars affect the body
Flavoured yoghurts and protein bars are regarded as safe foods for weight loss. During hectic days, many ladies depend on them. What makes them sweeter is the issue. Aspartame or sucralose are examples of artificial sweeteners found in the majority of these items. The body retains fat, digestion slows and bloating is prevalent when cortisol levels are high. This daily cortisol rise can feel like persistent weariness or stubborn weight for women who are already balancing hormonal changes and work-related stress.
Tofu and soy milk exacerbate oestrogen dominance
Foods made from soy are frequently marketed as healthy substitutes for protein. When consumed infrequently, they do provide advantages. Excess is the first step towards trouble. Phytoestrogens are substances found in soy that function in the body similarly to oestrogen. When taken in excess, they may exacerbate oestrogen dominance in sensitive women. Mood fluctuations before menstruation, breast discomfort, and increased PMS are indicators. This equilibrium may be unintentionally upset by switching entirely to soy milk, tofu and soy snacks.
Cooking oils can slow metabolism
Oils from vegetables, Indian kitchens and packaged foods frequently use sunflower, soybean and maize oil. Omega-6 fats are abundant in these oils. Omega-6 is necessary for the body, but too much of it causes inflammation.
Chronic inflammation interferes with thyroid hormone conversion. A sluggish thyroid often shows up as weight gain, hair loss and low energy. Cooking daily with these oils can quietly slow metabolic health over time.
Hormones, however, need healthy fats to function well. Removing fat also removes fat-soluble vitamins like A, D and K. These nutrients support reproductive health and hormone signalling. Without them, cycles may become irregular and energy may dip. Low-fat choices may look lighter, but they can leave hormones undernourished.
