Here's Why Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli, And Akshay Kumar Swear By An Early Dinner
More often than not, we give in to our evening hunger pangs. As a result, when it's dinner time, we do not feel hungry and tend to delay our meals. While eating late might feel like a no-big-deal, it can negatively impact your well-being. Over time, it can mess with your metabolism and make it difficult for you to maintain a healthy weight. Do you know, popular celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma and her husband-cricketer Virat Kohli, wrap up their dinner super-early? The reason was explored by nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary in an old Instagram video.
According to Rashi Chowdhary, consuming dinner early helps in realigning your circadian rhythm and maintains a stable insulin level. Explaning the reason in detail, she shared, “Melatonin, which is your sleep hormone, starts to get released in your bloodstream after sunset. When you have a large meal post sunset, you will also release insulin, which raises cortisol, which is your stress hormone. This is the basic metabolic response for the digestion of food."

The nutritionist added that since “cortisol and melatonin compete with each other", they are not able to survive together in the body. This causes hormonal imbalance, disrupting the natural rhythm and making it harder for you to fall asleep at night.
On the contrary, when you start eating dinner early, it leaves your body with enough time to release melatonin. Gradually, between 10 PM and 2 AM, your hormones are balanced, enzymes are repaired, and cells and tissues are restored. No wonder when you wake up from sleep, you feel more energetic and refreshed. This happens because your “internal clock got enough time to rest, recoup and recover," claimed Rashi Chowdhary.

The perks do not end here. As per the nutritionist, your cravings are either significantly reduced or completely gone, “you wake up with a flat stomach", feel more focused and productive and “in general, a lot happier." On a concluding note, Rashi Chowdhary said, “When you sleep better, your prefrontal cortex is lit up and you show up as a much better human being."
So, what are you waiting for? Start having your dinner early and watch it work wonders for your body.
