'Expected A Better Human In You'! Former Indian Cricketer Lambasts Mary Kom Over Allegations Levelled Against Former Husband
Former Indian cricketer and Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Manoj Tiwari, expressed his disappointment in legendary Indian boxer Mary Kom following her public fallout with her ex-husband, Karung Onkholer Kom, which made national headlines.
Tiwari opened up about his dismay over Kom's allegations levelled against Onkholer and that the boxer's words have deeply disturbed him.
Mary stated that, “To be honest, he married me, and he got everything from my earning. He did not earn a single rupee."
“Sorry #MaryKom, the nation expected a better human being in you," Tiwari wrote in a clapback
“I feel sorry for her ex-husband! This is a shame! Though it's her personal matter but couldn't stop myself in making this video as this sends a very very bad statement to the society!"
The couple formally separated over two years ago and completed a customary divorce under Kom community law on December 20, 2023.
Mary claimed she lost crores of rupees, was deprived of land purchased with her own earnings, and that loans were taken against her property in Manipur. However, Onkholer broke his silence, firmly rejecting Mary Kom's allegations of financial misconduct.
Onkholer further stated that he lives in a rented house in Delhi and challenged Mary Kom to produce proof.
Onkholer, who had remained silent for most of the saga, revealed that the former boxer had extra-marital affairs and that he had to stay quiet to maintain public integrity.
While the customary divorce is finalized, some formal proceedings remain pending. Mary Kom has expressed that she does not seek police action, only an end to the slander.
