"We ... are very happy about the signals we get from America regarding the sanctions on Russia. I think it's important, a sign of strength that we are aligned here", EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said ahead of a EU summit.
The United States unveiled sanctions against Russia's major oil companies on Wednesday, a day after plans for a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin fell apart.
