How does it feel when someone calls you by another name? Especially, the ones who claim to be your friends or know you? You might get offended, like most people do, because it's a sign of disrespect, indicating that the person hasn't been listened to or valued enough to remember their correct name. But it's not a similar case with Bollywood actor Ashish Vidyarthi.
Known for his villainous roles, Ashish, in a viral video that has resurfaced again, was mistaken for renowned filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker by a so-called ‘fan'. However, it was the actor's humility through which he corrected his fan about his identity, which grabbed the audience's attention.

In the clip, a fan is seen recording a selfie video at an airport. She went on to claim that she had met filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker on her flight and is a huge fan. “Ashutosh Gowariker he is on the same flight as me. I am so happy, sir," she said.
When Ashish realises the mistake, he smiles but does not take offence. While the situation could have easily become unpleasant, the Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai actor handled it with grace and humour.
The actor then looks into the camera and replies with a warm smile. He said “Achha, if you promise not to edit it, ye meri khaasiyat hai. Aap log Kapil Sharma Show dekhiyega iske liye. Har ek koi mujhe alag alag naam se pukaarta hai. Pehli baar kisine Ashutosh Gowariker bulaya hai (If you promise not to edit it, this is my speciality. You all must watch The Kapil Sharma Show for this. Everyone calls me by different names. For the first time, someone called me Ashutosh Gowariker)."
When the girl asserts that she has correctly identified him, he gently corrects her, “Mera naam Ashish Vidyarthi hai! (My name's Ashish Vidyarthi!)." Realising her mistake, the fan then hides her face in embarrassment.

How Did The Social Media React?
The clip was quick to grab the audience's attention, with many lauding the actor for handling the situation with grace and maturity. An Instagram user wrote, “What a gentleman he is, modestly correcting her." Another one commented, “When everyone knows you. But just by your face."
A person shared, “He is very gentle, he often corrects his name to his fans who only knew him by his character role. He confessed this on the Kapil Sharma show."
