Bengaluru founder opens up about feeling detached from life, says 'Nothing excites me anymore'
The founder described what he called a “weird phase” of life, admitting that many things that once brought him joy no longer excite him.
Updated on: Jun 04, 2026 4:26 PM IST By Bhavya Sukheja Share via Copy link A Bengaluru-based startup founder’s candid post about feeling detached from almost everything in life has struck a chord with social media users, prompting a discussion about burnout, changing priorities and mental well-being in adulthood. Ravi Ojha is the founder of Ticketping. (X/@raviojhax) In an X post, Ravi Ojha, the founder of Ticketping, described what he called a “weird phase” of life, admitting that many things that once brought him joy no longer excite him. “I'm in a weird phase of life rn. Nothing excites me anymore - personal life, relationship, work, ps5, cricket, movies/shows, ai, portfolio, books, fancy gadgets, sleep, dreams, birthdays etc - nothing,” Ojha wrote. The founder said that he is approaching mid-30s and did not view the feeling as a crisis. “I don't think this is some kinda crisis tho (given I'm approaching mid 30s). I do find joy in playing with my 18mo toddler for a while, or watching random videos that are unrelated to things I've so far studied, like how a baby is formed in the womb, that first heartbeat and that we're buttfirst mammals lol,” he wrote. However, he added that after taking 2 weeks off from work in an attempt to recover from what he initially thought was burnout, he began to wonder whether it was something more. “I've taken two weeks off from work to wind down thinking this is a burnout, but now I'm starting to feel this is beyond burnout, although I don't know how to describe it succintly,” he said. Ojha concluded the post, saying, “So now I'm traveling a bit, maybe that'll help. Flying to BLR next week, maybe meeting some old friends there will help - lets see.” (Also Read: Bengaluru founder with ₹5 crore in bank pays himself only ₹50,000 a month, investor calls it a red flag)What did social media say?
Ojha’s post quickly caught the attention of social media users, with many offering advice and sharing similar experiences. One user wrote, “did you try checking your B12, and Vit D levels? not a joke, but at times, what looks like burn out is actually lack of crucial vitamins in the body.” “Try Nature. Book jungle safari. A camping trip with a river nearby. Sit next to a river, eyes closed..Nature heals everything. You need calm not chaos,” commented another. “The encouraging part is that you still find joy in your toddler and in learning weird new things. If those were gone too, I’d be more worried. It sounds like your sense of wonder is intact…just buried under years of routine and responsibility,” wrote a third user. “Was having this until I moved out into nature. Nothing better than working on your house/yard, doing physical projects, and enjoying the natural environment,” said another. “I felt the same after I had my first child (he's now nearly 4!). I think it's a combination of your priorities changing and understanding you're responsible for another real actual human. It changes you. What seemed important before is now insignificant,” wrote one user. “Hey man. It's burnout. There are levels and stages to this. I think the truth is that your job isn't as stimulating or meaningful as it might seem at a glance although I'm sure the salary is still welcome. I strongly recommend you find some extra hobbies that stimulate,” suggested another.
