CBSE Class 10 Second Board Results 2026 Date Time Live Updates: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 10 second board examination results for 2026 shortly. While the board has not officially confirmed the date and time, the results are likely to be declared anytime soon.
Approximately 6.7 lakh applications were received for the second board examination. Of these, around 5.25 lakh students registered for improvement exams, while more than 85,000 applied under the compartment category. Students who clear the Class 10 examination will be eligible for admission to Class 11.

The overall pass percentage for the CBSE Class 10 board exams, declared on April 15, 2026, stood at 93.70%. Girls outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 94.99%, compared to 92.69% among boys.
Starting from 2026, CBSE has introduced a two-exam system for Class 10 students. The first phase is conducted between February and March, followed by an optional second phase in May for those looking to improve their scores. The higher of the two scores will be considered final. However, students who are absent in three or more subjects in the first phase will not be eligible to appear for the second board exam.
As per CBSE norms, students who are unable to pass even after the second board examination will be deemed unsuccessful for the academic year and will have to reappear in the next board cycle in 2027.
Students wishing to check their CBSE Class 10 second board exam results must have their admit card, roll number, school code, and date of birth ready. These details are required to view and download the digital marksheet from the official result portals or via DigiLocker.
As per CBSE rules, students must score at least 33% in each subject to pass the second board exams.
The Central Information Commission (CIC) has directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to provide “point-wise categorical” information, as permitted under the RTI Act, on examination expenditure and answer books, including details of the tendering and procurement process for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Setting aside CBSE’s earlier refusal, the transparency panel instructed the board to issue revised replies, stating that information exempt from disclosure may be redacted or masked under Section 10 of the RTI Act, and that any denial under Section 8(1)(d) must be properly justified.
The choice is no longer only between science, commerce, or arts; it now depends on how well students can adapt to AI. AI has created many new career opportunities. Humanities students can work with data analysis, and commerce students can use AI tools to forecast the stock market. Still, the fundamentals remain essential. When deciding your 11th grade stream, you should consider both your interests and academic strengths, while also being aware of market demand. In the AI era, what matters is not the degree you hold but what you can actually “do.” You can opt for vocational subjects like coding, graphic design, data visualisation, or digital content creation alongside your 11th grade studies. Blending these skills with traditional academic knowledge will put you ahead of many peers who depend only on bookish learning.

Advocate Vineet Jindal, who has been assisting CBSE students with Class 12 revaluation grievances, has submitted a representation to the Ministry of Education and the NTA on behalf of NEET aspirants from across the country. In his letter, Jindal stated that students are not responsible for the circumstances that led to the cancellation and rescheduling of the examination, yet are bearing the brunt of the disruption. He highlighted that the sudden announcement of the re-exam within a short timeframe has triggered significant mental stress, anxiety, emotional strain, sleep disturbances, and loss of concentration among candidates.
Over 1.6 lakh CBSE class 12 students had applied for the verification and re-evaluation of over 3.8 lakh answer sheets. However, the board has still not issued an official timeline. The re-evaluation portal closed on June 7, however, with no update on the result announcement date, students are left in a limbo.
Step 1: Go to the official website of DigiLocker or install the app from Google Play Store
Step 2: Next, students should sign in to their accounts using their mobile numbers
Step 3: If you are a first-time user, click on ‘Forgot security PIN?’ and enter your registered mobile number as well as your date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY) as prescribed by CBSE
Step 4: Enter the OTP that was sent to your registered mobile number and log in
Step 5: After successfully logging in, students should navigate to the ‘Issued Documents’ section of DigiLocker, where they will find all of their class 10 second board exam certificates.

After the declaration of CBSE 10th Result, students can check it in many ways as per their convenience, which are as follows-
— Visit the official website: cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in and check the result by roll number
— Through SMS: Result can be received directly on mobile by sending SMS in prescribed format
— IVRS/Call: The result can also be heard by calling through Interactive Voice Response System.
— Through DigiLocker : Marksheets and certificates can be downloaded by logging into the DigiLocker app or website.
— UMANG App: CBSE result can also be checked through UMANG mobile app.
The CBSE 10th second board online marksheet will include the student’s name, parents’ names, school name, roll number, date of birth, subject-wise marks, grade, total marks, and pass/fail status.
Students will also receive grades along with marks. CBSE follows a 9-point grading scale (A1 to E) based on the marks scored by each student. A1 is the highest grade, while grade E is awarded to students who do not pass the exam. The top 1/8th of successful candidates are given Grade A1, and the next 1/8th receive Grade A2. Grades B1 and B2 are then allotted to the next two 1/8th segments of passed candidates. Similarly, grades C1, C2, D1, and D2 are assigned to the subsequent 1/8th groups of students who pass. Grade E is given to those who fail the examination.

Step 3: Enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID.
Step 4: Click on the submit button.
Step 5: Your provisional marksheet will be displayed on the screen.
CBSE 10th students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject to pass. For most theory papers carrying 80 marks, this translates to scoring at least 27 marks, along with meeting other assessment criteria.
