Students must note that the scorecard will be provisional, hence, the students are required to collect the original mark sheet from their schools.
In the previous session, the CBSE board declared Class 10 results for both 2025 and 2024 on May 13, while In 2023 the result was declared On May 12.
The CBSE board Class 10 and 12 marksheet will include details such as the name of the student, total subject-wise marks, theory marks, practical marks, qualifying status (pass or fail), and more.
CBSE has a ‘Relative Grading’ system which was introduced to reduce academic stress and unhealthy competition among students. Unlike the earlier fixed grading model — which assigned grades based on predefined mark ranges (such as 91–100 for A1, 81–90 for A2) — the new system evaluates a student’s performance in relation to their peer group. Consequently, the cutoff for each grade can change depending on subject-wise performance trends and the number of passing candidates.
According to CBSE rules, students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject to pass. However, if a student falls short of the pass mark by just 1 or 2 marks, grace marks may be given to help them qualify.

This time the CBSE board has extensively used digital marking or ‘on-screen marking’ to check the answer sheets, which aims to reduce the chances of human errors and also make the work faster.
CBSE usually releases the 10th, 12th results between 11 am and 1 pm. However, an official notification is awaited.
After the CBSE 10th results are released, traffic on the website increases dramatically. This often causes the CBSE board website to crash. In such situations, students can download their digital marksheets using DigiLocker, UMANG app, SMS, and other options.
To pass the CBSE Class 10 board exam, students need a combined score of 33% in theory and internal assessment. This is a welcome relief for students who may not have performed well in their theory exams. Further, they can also appear for the phase 2 if their marks is low in three subjects.
Before the CBSE 10th and 12th results are announced, the board will send a 6-digit security PIN to all schools. Students can get this PIN by contacting their school. Without this PIN, digital marksheets cannot be downloaded from DigiLocker.
According to CBSE officials, the answer sheets are currently in the final stages of verification. A notification on the date and time is expected to be out soon on the official website, cbse.gov.in.
