Boost Immunity At Home With This 5-Step, Preservative-Free Chyawanprash Recipe
Chyawanprash is one of the most widely consumed health supplements during the winter season. Known for boosting immunity, it offers several additional health benefits for people of all ages. However, store-bought Chyawanprash may sometimes contain adulterants, which can do more harm than good. The good news: you can easily prepare pure, preservative-free Chyawanprash at home. Here's the simple recipe.
Ingredients and Preparation
Cook the Amla- Wash the amla thoroughly and pressure-cook it for 2–3 whistles. Once the pressure releases, remove the pulp and discard the seeds. Blend the pulp into a smooth paste.
Cook the Amla Pulp- Heat a mix of oil and ghee in a pan. Add the amla paste and cook it on a low flame for 15–20 minutes. Once it turns glossy and thickens, turn off the heat.
Prepare the Jaggery Syrup- In a separate vessel, dissolve jaggery in a little water and cook until it reaches a one-string consistency. Add the cooked amla mixture to this syrup and mix well.
Add the Spices- Blend all the spices into a fine powder. Slowly add this spice mix to the amla mixture, stirring continuously. Cook on low flame for another 10–15 minutes. Turn off the gas and allow the mixture to cool.
Final Step- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool completely. Once cool, mix in honey. Transfer the Chyawanprash to a clean glass jar. It does not need refrigeration.
