Asia Cup 2025 Points Table: Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan in a thrilling Asia Cup 2025 encounter. The victory keeps Bangladesh's Super 4 hopes alive. India has already qualified from Group A. Pakistan will qualify if they win against UAE. In Group B, Sri Lanka is in a strong position. Bangladesh's qualification depends on the Sri Lanka versus Afghanistan match.

Asia Cup Points Table 2025: Bangladesh kept their Super 4 qualification hopes alive in the Asia Cup 2025 with an eight-run win over Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. With this result, Bangladesh finished the group stage with four points from three games. Afghanistan remain on two points with one match left. Chasing 155, Afghanistan were in control for large parts of the innings despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Bangladesh staged a strong comeback through their bowlers. Mustafizur Rahman returned figures of 3/28, while Nasum Ahmed (2/11), Rishad Hossain (2/18) and Taskin Ahmed (2/34) also contributed with key breakthroughs. With this win, Bangladesh moved to second place in the points table. However, their net run rate remains negative at -0.270, compared to Afghanistan's +2.150 and Sri Lanka's +1.546.

Asia Cup 2025 Point Table and Qualification Scenario

Asia Cup Group A Standings

India: Qualified
India have 4 points from 2 matches and have already qualified for the Super 4.

Pakistan
Pakistan will qualify if they beat UAE in their final group game. A Pakistan win takes them to 4 points and secures the second Super 4 spot behind India.

If Pakistan lose to UAE, Pakistan remain on 2 points and are eliminated. UAE would move to 4 points and qualify instead.

If the match is tied or abandoned (no result), both teams get 1 point (finish on 3) and Pakistan would be eliminated (India on 4 already).

UAE
UAE will qualify if they beat Pakistan. A win lifts UAE to 4 points and they would take the second qualifying place behind India.

If UAE lose, they are eliminated. A tie/no-result also eliminates UAE (they would finish on 3 points).

Oman: Eliminated

Oman have 0 points from 2 matches and are already eliminated from Super 4 contention.

Asia Cup Group B Standings

Sri Lanka

You Might Also Like: Pakistan threatens to boycott Asia Cup match over handshake row with India. What if it does? All scenarios explained Sri Lanka currently have 4 points and are in a strong position. If they beat Afghanistan, they will finish on 6 points and qualify top of the group. If they lose, they could still qualify depending on net run rate if all three (SL, BAN, AFG) end on 4 points.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh have 4 points but a negative net run rate. They are through only if Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan in the final group game. In that case Bangladesh and Sri Lanka would advance.

If Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka, then Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan would all finish on four points and the two teams with the best net run rates would progress. Bangladesh's current NRR is negative, so they would need NRR to remain higher than at least one rival — an unlikely path without favourable margins.

Afghanistan:

Afghanistan will keep their qualification hopes alive by beating Sri Lanka. A win takes them to 4 points and would create a three-way tie (AFG, SL, BAN) if Bangladesh remain on four; net run rate would then decide the two qualifiers. Afghanistan currently have a strong positive NRR, which would favour them in that three-way scenario.

Hong Kong — eliminated

Hong Kong are on 0 points from 3 matches and are already eliminated from Super 4 contention.
Group A: India already through; Pakistan qualify if they beat UAE (otherwise UAE qualify). Oman are out.

Group B: Sri Lanka and Bangladesh currently on 4 points; Bangladesh need a Sri Lanka win over Afghanistan to advance outright — an Afghanistan win would force NRR to decide between SL, BAN and AFG. Hong Kong are out.

Asia Cup Points Table 2025 (Group Stage so far):

Asia Cup Points Table Group A
Pos Team Mat W L T NR Pts Net Run Rate 1 India (Q) 2 2 0 0 0 4 +4.793 2 Pakistan 2 1 1 0 0 2 +1.649 3 United Arab Emirates 2 1 1 0 0 2 −2.030 4 Oman 2 0 2 0 0 0 −3.375
Asia Cup Points Table Group B
Pos Team Played Won Lost Tied NR Points Net Run Rate 1 Sri Lanka 2 2 0 0 0 4 +1.546 2 Bangladesh 3 2 1 0 0 4 −0.270 3 Afghanistan 2 1 1 0 0 2 +2.150 4 Hong Kong 3 0 3 0 0 0 −2.151

Asia Cup Standings: Can Bangladesh qualify?

Bangladesh's path depends on the result of Afghanistan's match against Sri Lanka. If Afghanistan lose, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will advance. If Afghanistan win, all three teams — Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan — will be tied at four points, and net run rate will decide the qualifiers.

Richie Richardson to replace referee Andy Pycroft in Pakistan matches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to continue in the Asia Cup 2025 after reaching an agreement with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the role of match referee Andy Pycroft.

PCB sources told PTI that a "middle-of-the-road" agreement was reached under which Pycroft will not officiate matches involving Pakistan. Richie Richardson has been brought in for Pakistan's must-win fixture against UAE in Dubai on Wednesday.

India-Pakistan handshake row

The PCB had demanded Pycroft's removal from the tournament, citing violation of ICC rules. The request followed Pakistan's defeat to India on Sunday, when Indian players declined to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts. The gesture was made in respect to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 people were killed.

On Tuesday, the ICC officially rejected the PCB's demand to remove Pycroft from the tournament panel. The rejection letter was signed by ICC's general manager Waseem Khan, who earlier served as PCB's CEO.
