Apple iPhone 17 series draws massive crowds across stores as new iPhone models go on sale in India
The Apple iPhone 17 series went up for sale today in India, and with that, all the four Apple Stores in India saw massive crowds gathering to get their hands on the new iPhones. People queued up from the previous night itself to be among the first to get the new iPhone 17 models, which consist of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air is a new addition to the line-up.
Currently, Apple has retail stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune, where all the products are readily available. The new iPhone models are also available across stores like Redington, Croma, Imagine, Ingram Micro, and many more such large format retail outlets.
Even quick commerce platforms like Blinkit and Instamart announced that buyers could get the new iPhone 17 series delivered within ten minutes.
Visuals of scuffles also came in from Apple's first store in India, BKC Mumbai, where buyers were seen throwing punches at each other. The scene at Apple Store in Select City Mall, Saket, was largely calm with people waiting overnight and some coming early in the morning.
This year, Apple introduced camera changes across the entire line-up, with the selfie camera going up to 18 MP from 12 MP in the previous generation. The iPhone 17 Air comes with a slim form factor, having a single 48 MP rear camera and the A19 Pro chipset.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have all three of their camera lenses capable of delivering 48 MP. The optical zoom capabilities have increased as well. They run the A19 Pro chipset.
Apple also claimed that the new iPhone 17 series has a better battery life when compared to the previous generation. The new series is powered by iOS 26 out of the box.
The iPhone 17 starts at ₹82,900 while the iPhone 17 Air costs ₹1,19,900. The iPhone 17 Pro sells at ₹1,34,900 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max can be bought at ₹1,49,900.
