World Championships Silver Medallist Marvin Bracy Gets 45-Month Doping Ban
World 100 metres silver medallist Marvin Bracy has accepted a 45-month ban for anti-doping rule violations, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced on Monday.
Bracy, who secured silver at the 2022 World Championships, faced provisional suspension in February 2024 after testing positive for an anabolic agent during an out-of-competition test. USADA launched an investigation into Bracy after receiving a tip from a whistleblower.
According to USADA, Bracy initially attempted to tamper with the investigation, which was conducted in collaboration with the Athletics Integrity Unit and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Bracy eventually admitted to the violations and provided significant assistance. He has not competed since 2023.
USADA CEO Travis Tygart highlighted the importance of cooperation between organizations and law enforcement in combating organised doping schemes. He noted that the investigation has already led to several impactful outcomes, which will be disclosed as the overall investigation progresses.

Bracy is the second sprinter from the 2022 U.S. podium sweep of the blue-riband event to face anti-doping violations. Fred Kerley, the gold-medal winner, was provisionally suspended in August by the Athletics Integrity Unit for whereabouts failures. Kerley announced his intention to contest the allegation and later joined the inaugural Enhanced Games, which permits the use of performance-enhancing drugs banned in official competitions.
