Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR's War 2 was one of the most anticipated films of the year. However, when it finally hit theatres earlier this month, it failed to impress the audience and did not dominate the box office. Amid the film's slow box office numbers, several online reports claimed that Naga Vamsi, who distributed the Telugu version of the Ayan Mukerji directorial, has decided to quit the film industry.
Amid all this, Naga Vamsi recently took to his X handle and clarified that he was here to stay in cinema for a minimum of 10 to 15 years. “Enti nannu chala miss avthunattu unnaru.. Vamsi adi, Vamsi idi ani gripping narratives tho full hadavidi nadustundi… Parledu, X lo manchi writers unnaru. Sorry to disappoint you all, but inka aa time raaledu… minimum inko 10-15 years undi. At the cinemas… for the cinema, always! See you all with our next outing #MassJathara, Very Soon!" he wrote in Telugu.
This roughly translates to, “It seems like you are missing me too much… There seem to be gripping narratives on Vamsi this and Vamsi that. It's okay, there seem to be good writers on X. Sorry to disapoint you all, but that time hasn't come yet… A minimum of 10-15 years remain for it. At the cinemas… for the cinema, always! See you all with our next outing #MassJathara, Very Soon!"

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films, War 2 is mounted on a massive budget of Rs 300–400 crore. Alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also features Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana in crucial roles.
However, the film received mixed reviews from all. News18 Showsha rated War 2 2.5/5, noting: “At 2 hours 50 minutes, War 2 tries to go full throttle but often skids into chaos. A thriller of this scale definitely needed crisper editing. Instead, what we get is a bunch of long-drawn flashbacks that dilute the pace… But what needs to be truly spoken about are its action sequences."
War 2 is currently inching close to Rs 200 crore mark at the box office.
