War 2 Box Office Day 9: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR Film’s Collection Dip Further On 2nd Friday
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's high-octane action film War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has seen a slowdown in its weekday box office performance. Despite a strong opening weekend, the film's momentum has dipped in its second week. While it has already earned over Rs 200 crore due to the initial buzz, this week's collections will be crucial for its overall box office trajectory.
According to Sacnilk's early estimates, War 2 earned Rs 4 crore across all languages in India on its sixth day, taking the total to Rs 208 crore. The Hindi version recorded an overall occupancy of 9.83% nationwide, with morning shows at 5.70%, afternoon at 8.40%, and evening shows slightly higher at 10.09%. The Tamil version saw 16.35% occupancy on Friday, while the Telugu version registered 15.54%. War 2 has one week to boost its collections before facing competition from Param Sundari on August 29.
War 2: Cast And Other Details
War 2 is part of YRF's growing Spy Universe, which includes Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Salman Khan's Tiger franchises. Kiara Advani has a significant part in the film, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The film concludes with a post-credits scene that teases the following installment, Alpha, and features Bobby Deol in a cameo to build up the tale. Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, is set to arrive in December, expanding the action-packed spy universe.
YRF Pays For War 2 Losses
Due to the poor box office performance, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has stepped in to help the distributor, Naga Vamsi, recover the losses. According to a Great Andhra report, the Telugu version of War 2 was purchased for approximately Rs 80 crore. However, the film's performance in this area was well below projections. To make up for the losses, YRF reportedly repaid Rs 22 crore in the form of a structured settlement plan. According to reports, Rs 10 crore was distributed to the Nizam area, Rs 7 crore to Andhra, and Rs 5 crore to Ceded.
