These features are quite popular which is why the company decided that people should pay to use them. Most users have not been pleased with these forced tactics from YouTube to get its subscription numbers moving up.
But like most cases, you have one company which is willing to fight these restrictions and unlock all these features for free.

The web browser company says YouTube might have blocked browsers from offering background playback of content on mobile. But Brave has taken a bold move and decided to update its own browser to bypass the block enabled by Google.
Thousands have lauded Brave for taking this decision, acting on it and publicly sharing its views on such actions, which shows Google and YouTube in a different light to millions.
This web browser works on desktop and mobile devices, and in addition to allowing you to play YouTube videos in the background, you can also block all the ads on the platform that you will see with a free account.
It is quite likely that YouTube will somehow manage to restrict the browser from unlocking these paid features for free, but it is quite evident that Brave is ready for the fight, and we might see the saga continue for a long time.
Why Push?
YouTube has done this for years and it continues to make it harder for people using the free account to really get the best value from the platform. The company has repeatedly said it pushes people to sign up for premium to support its creators and that's fine.
But at least give users the freedom to decide what they want, or else, alternatives like Brave will linger around to make sure that people do get the last laugh.
