Video Questions App For ‘Extra-Marital Affairs’ — Women Can Sign Up Free, Men Need To Pay ₹1,800
Who knew cheating could be turned into a business opportunity? Infidelity which usually leaves emotional wreckage behind, is now finding a new way to be on your phone. A recent viral video has brought attention to an unusual app in India that promises “secret affairs."
The video features a man walking viewers through Gleeden, an extra-marital app made primarily for women. He goes through the app's various features and points out how it is somewhat partial as it gives women easier access while placing more restrictions and costs on men.
How Gleeden Works
The man explains that the app allows women to sign up for free “for a completely secret affair" while men have to pay at least Rs 1,800 just to access basic features. On top of that, men are charged for almost every action on the platform such as reading messages or sending virtual gifts. To maintain discretion, payments are disguised on bank statements under a different name.
“Even in your bank statement, the payment won't show as Gleeden but as Google GD Media so you don't get caught," he explained.
The app even has a quick-exit feature that lets users log out immediately in case of emergencies.
“Yes, this is plain simple cheating on steroids," he remarks in the end.

A Surprising Surge In Users
Despite the app's controversial premise, Gleeden has been seeing a rapid increase in users across India. According to a report in Moneycontrol, the platform now has around 3 million users in the country. In 2024, the app experienced a 270 per cent surge in its user base with women now making up 58 per cent of members. About 40 per cent of users spend up to 45 minutes daily on the platformwith most users in the 30-45 age group.
Cities Where Affairs Are Going Digital
Metro cities dominate the user base. According to the report, Bengaluru leads with 20 per cent of Gleeden's user base followed by Mumbai at 19 per cent, Kolkata at 18 per cent and Delhi at 15 per cent.

Another platform, Ashley Madison, globally known for extra-marital connections, also highlighted India as a fast-growing market. In June, the app mentioned that Kanchipuram, a town in Tamil Nadu, recorded the highest signup rate in the country surpassing even Delhi and Mumbai. In 2024, the town ranked 17th and the latest data pointed at a sharp increase in activity and growing adoption in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
