Sharing the memory on the show, Twinkle said, “I almost became a Kapoor because of Alia's father-in-law. On my birthday, he tweeted very generously, ‘Oh you know… when you were in your mother's stomach, I serenaded her.' So everybody thought that I was his illegitimate daughter. Then he got trolled and had to clarify, saying, ‘No, I am so sorry.'"
Her candid narration left Kajol, who co-hosts the show with her, in splits. Kajol also pointed out that Alia Bhatt, who was present during the episode, had an adorably awkward reaction to the story. Twinkle quickly added, “I am not your sister-in-law, it was a mistake." Varun Dhawan, who also featured in the episode, teased Alia by saying, “She doesn't know how to react."

The message was a nostalgic nod to the film's popular romantic track Aksar Koi Ladka, picturised on him and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle's mother. However, the choice of words led to a flurry of gossip and wild assumptions online, with many misinterpreting the lighthearted tweet.

The chatter grew loud enough for Rishi Kapoor to step in and clarify. He later tweeted, “Kuch logon ko problem kya hai? Kakaji and Dimple were married, Bobby was still incomplete, we shot that song when Dimple was 3 months pregnant. Kakaji-Dimple married in March '73. Bobby released Sept 28th '73. Twinkle born 29th Dec '73."
