The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a major step towards further improving passenger convenience. Under the Government of India's National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) initiative, NCMC cards from all banks are now accepted on the Delhi Metro network and the Airport Line. The aim is to integrate and simplify various transportation systems and retail payments across the country.
The goal: Travel across the country with a single card
The Government of India's National Common Mobility Card scheme aims to provide passengers with seamless travel across different transport systems using a single card. The Delhi Metro has adopted this initiative, making all banks' NCMC cards valid on its network, eliminating the need for passengers to obtain separate cards repeatedly.
Passengers advised to opt for NCMC cards
The Delhi Metro administration has appealed to passengers who wish to obtain new smart cards to prioritize NCMC or virtual smart cards. However, keeping passenger convenience in mind, DMRC's traditional smart cards will also remain available at metro stations.
