'The Things That Have Kept Me Going...': Hamilton Expresses Gratitude For Unwavering Support Despite Disappointing Debut Season In Ferrari
Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton's incredible record in the big leagues was handed a body-blow as he ended the 2026 season without a podium finish in the famous colours of Ferrari in his debut campaign with the iconic Italian manufacturer.
Hamilton finished the drivers championships in sixth with 156 points throughout the campaign, but failed to log a podium finish with the Prancing Horse.
Hamilton expressed his gratitude to everyone who has stuck by him during his testing times in the cockpit of the legendary manufacturer.
“I've had an amazing support from so many people that travel around the world, supporting me or sending me messages, so my fans have been the thing that have kept me going, really have been the rock," the Brit said.
“My mum has really been phenomenal, supportive, my dad and my family as well," the 40-year-old said.
“I would say just luckily I've got those good people around me and then, as I said, each weekend I see young kids and adults rooting me on and reminding me why I do what I do and not to give up," he added.
Hamilton took Carlos Sainz's seat at the Prancing Horse, only to watch the Spaniard lift Williams to a fifth place finish in the championship. Sainz achieved two podium finishes during the season, helping Williams accumulate 137 points by the year's end.
Max Vestappen, who dethroned Hamilton to establish a four-year stint as champion had to relinquish his title to Lando Norris of McLaren as the Brit got his first taste of the crown with a season in which he logged 423, two ahead of Verstappen.

Verstappen etched his name in the history of Formula One racing in Abu Dhabi to clinch his maiden World Championship in the year 2021 in a triumph that would perhaps remain controversial depending on one's allegiances.
Fast forward to 2025 and Verstappen won the Yas Marina title in the season's curtain call, but had to endure the dissolution of his four-year reign as the champion, with Lando Norris's third place enough to give the McLaren driver his maiden title with just a couple of points over the Dutchman.
