UPSC Success Story: Having even one family member crack the UPSC is a significant achievement. Raghavendra Kumar Mishra, a teacher from Unnao, has two daughters who passed the Civil Services exam. Originally from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Mishra has been teaching in Delhi for the past 27 years. One of his daughters, Saumya, who was selected in the UPSC, was the SDM of Madihan tehsil. Saumya and Sumegha, are the daughters of Raghavendra Mishra, a lecturer in a government school in Delhi, and Renu Mishra, a homemaker. The daughters stated that the family moved from their village to Delhi in 1997 due to their father's job. However, they always missed the village's atmosphere and environment.
Sumegha was always bright in studies. She scored 94 per cent in high school and 92 per cent in the class 12 intermediate exams. Both the sisters have completed their graduation from Delhi University's Kirori Mal College. Saumya is an alumna of KMC's Geography Department from the 2014-2017 batch.
